Student Support
A school community that demonstrates respect for all its members, reinforces the practical value of cooperation, non-discrimination, positive decision-making and promotes self respect and consideration for others. Student Support includes everything that the school community does to enhance the personal, academic and social well-being of our students. It is applied to all students of this school regardless of age, gender, religion, cultural background or socio-economic background.
At Bass High School all members of the school community, including staff, parents, family members, care givers and outside organisations, are concerned about the welfare of students. The process of personal development and concern for student welfare occurs throughout the day, across the curriculum and throughout the school community. In addition, this school provides various activities, services and courses, which have a particular focus on student support.
Student Support is an integral part of teaching and learning. All staff play a vital role when dealing with student welfare for better student outcomes and the student support team comprises of specific personnel whose roles within the school is directly related to the well-being of students. The total school environment must be a place that is safe, happy, enjoyable and challenging and where learning occurs in a supportive, positive and safe environment.
